At The Haven, we believe education should be as unique and vibrant as the individuals we serve. We’re thrilled to officially open our doors – or rather, our virtual classrooms – as a dedicated online learning centre for neurodivergent girls and non-binary young people aged 13-17. We understand that traditional educational settings can sometimes present challenges, and that’s why we’ve reimagined the learning experience from the ground up, creating a true haven where brilliant minds can flourish.

The Haven isn’t just another online school; it’s a carefully crafted environment built on a foundation of neuro-affirmation, understanding, and empowerment. We recognise and celebrate the diverse ways neurodivergent individuals learn, interact, and experience the world. Our approach moves beyond simply adapting existing models; we’ve designed our entire learning ecosystem to be inherently inclusive and supportive.

What makes The Haven different?

• A Neuro-Affirming Ethos: At the heart of The Haven is a deep respect for neurodiversity. We champion individual strengths, validate unique experiences, and foster a strong sense of self-acceptance. Our learning environment is designed to reduce sensory overload and social anxieties often experienced in traditional settings.

Through interactive sessions, collaborative projects, and dedicated community spaces, learners can connect with peers who share similar experiences, building friendships and support networks.
• Focus on Holistic Development: We believe education extends beyond academics. The Haven provides dedicated strands in our “Neurodiversity University” to nurture positive self-identity and self-advocacy skills. Furthermore, our employability and entrepreneurship resources equip learners with crucial life skills for a successful transition to adulthood.
• Accessibility and Flexibility: Our online format offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing learning to fit around individual needs and circumstances. This accessibility removes geographical barriers and can create a more comfortable and focused learning environment for many neurodivergent students.
• Employability & Entrepreneurship: we weave these two strands throughout our core offer so that our learners leave well prepared for the outside world.
• A Non-Profit: The Haven is created by Autistic Girls Network charity and any profits will be used to support autistic girls, women and non-binary people and campaign for earlier diagnosis.
