Neurodiversity University

At The Haven, we understand that academic success goes hand-in-hand with a strong sense of self. That’s why, alongside our engaging academic and project-based sessions, we’ve created the Neurodiversity University strand. This vital programme addresses the critical need for positive neurodivergent identity development and robust self-advocacy skills – resources we deeply wish we’d had access to growing up. Beyond 1:1 and group mentoring with experienced neurodivergent mentors, learners will explore a comprehensive suite of workshops and resources covering crucial topics.

Topics include:

  • My Neurodivergent Identity

  • The Sensory Me

  • Feelings and Emotions

  • Emotional regulation support

  • How to co-regulate with your family

  • Masking and Self-Care

  • Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria

  • Alexithymia

  • Autistic Intertia

  • Planning and Organising

  • Energy Accounting

  • Self-Advocacy and Feeling Empowered

We also cover practical life skills such as “Money Matters,” “Resolving Conflicts,” and “Planning and Organising.” This strand ensures our students not only excel academically but also navigate their neurodivergence with confidence, understanding, and a strong sense of belonging, fostering a safe and empowering learning environment.
