Tammy McChristie
SENCo

As The Haven’s SENCo, Tammy leads on the thoughtful design and coordination of support for neurodivergent learners across our provision. Her work centres on ensuring that every learner’s profile is understood in context – bringing together relational insight, co-produced strategies, and a deep respect for autonomy.
Tammy has a particular interest in trauma-informed and regulation-first practice, with experience supporting learners whose needs may not fit traditional systems. She works closely with families, educators, and external partners to create support approaches that are flexible, humane, and grounded in real-life rhythms.
A key part of her role is developing a shared language across the team, using symbolic tools such as glyphons to better understand patterns of communication, energy, and engagement.
For families, this means your child is seen as a whole person. For staff, it means clear, compassionate guidance that keeps inclusion both practical and deeply human.
